My mug shots …

Here’s my story ...

It all started May 2019. We had just put our 19 year old dog Zeus down, he was ill. We debated getting another dog, but couldn’t quite face replacing him. Fast forward to Jan 2020. Almost 8 months has passed, we did not feel the same without a dog in our lives. This began the journey of looking for a suitable family member. We all agreed we wanted a Siberian Husky. My 2 daughters love that they sing, not to mention they are cute. We live in Canada so you might figure it would be easy to find one, unfortunately that was not the case. We searched for several months, then Covid hit and we could not leave the province in order to visit the closest breeders. I decided it was time to take to the help of the internet. I search and search all manners of online groups and classifieds. I was almost at the point of giving up. With everyone staying home everyone and their dog, wanted a puppy (pun intended). It was, Easter weekend, and we decided to make a “Looking for” add. Within a few days I received a reply from a great family saying her 2 purebreds were being breed for the 1st time, puppies are due to be born any day, and we were the first family she contacted. This had made our day to say the least. The puppies were born April 29th, and we were given 1st pick of the litter. It didn’t take my daughters long to pick out Yoshi. They were born a 3 hour drive away from us, which made regular visits not practical. Over the course of the next 7 weeks, we received videos and pictures of our soon to be family member, and made 2 special weekend trips to meet him. We were finally able to take him home fathers day. Lets just say that whole day was one I’ll never forget. He is now 5 months old as of writing this. He is in love with our 2 daughters, and follows them around everywhere! Needless to say our family is once again whole. The best thing to come out of the whole pandemic. What a year.
