My mug shots …
Here’s my story ...
This might sound hard to believe, but I am Santa’s secret agent. Like, for real real.
Officially, I’m an employee of North Pole Enterprises—the LLC Mr. Claus created to protect him from defective product liability—but my brief is wide-ranging.
Essentially, I’m a fixer. But not the kind of fixer who kills people. A nicer kind of fixer.
My latest assignment was to inspect the chimney at the Olsen’s house in Decorah, Iowa and prepare it for Santa’s Christmas Eve descent.
I arrived at the Olsen’s house one evening in mid-December. Immediately, I noticed something strange: the house had no festive lights. It was very dark outside and just a small flicker of light was visible through one of the windows.
As I peered inside, I saw a little girl crying.
The inside of the home had been burned by a fire. The fire must have been small enough to leave the structure of the house intact, but most of its contents were destroyed.
The family huddled together near the fireplace for warmth. Evidently, they had nowhere else to go.
‘There’s going to be no Christmas this year’, said the girl’s father.
It broke my heart. Now I realized why Santa had sent me to this home.
I called up another SSA (Santa Secret Agent), a pelican named Sam. Sam arrived in a flash, I hopped on his back and we flew all the way to the North Pole.
Back at the workshop, I told Santa about the girl and the burned home. He gently nodded.
On Christmas morning, the family woke up to find that their entire home had been mended. Everything was new, and a beautiful Christmas tree stood in the corner of the living room. Under the tree were dozens of the most wonderful presents for the girl.
These are the days that make being secret agent worthwhile. Suffice it to say: I have a good boss.
